A nice surprise in the mailbox today.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. :)

Randy, I'm glad you liked the contents of the box! :thumbsup: (Here's some trivia for you; once upon a time, that box came to me with a knife from Paul Hilborn! ;) So ND to NC via MI! :rolleyes:)

I ran a little GAW a few weeks ago in which I asked participants what knife of mine they'd like to have if their "number came up", and Randy mentioned that he didn't have a canoe pattern, so he selected a smooth white bone Rough Rider I have. Randy didn't win the GAW, but I knew that he was a real fan of stag handles, and he sends out so many gift knives that he might have his own USPS substation by now, so I'd been intending to send him a stag knife of which I had duplicates. When I heard he had no canoe (which is probably my favorite pattern), I knew that the "spare" Colt stag canoe was intended for him!

I can understand the reservations people have about paying good money for a rock! :cool: But Petoskey stones are pretty cool, and I've spent several hours searching unsuccessfully for them. Once I put a value of what my time was worth, I had NO problems dropping the cash on a few stones to send out now and then! Here's a pic of Vic Explorer in front of a little bear my wife has; it's carved from a Petoskey Stone:

Enjoy that canoe, Randy!! :cool::thumbsup:

Excellent gesture! It's a great feeling when something comes unexpected in the mail... And it's not a bill!
