A non knife maker questioning - polishing canvas micarta.

I have a BRKT micarta in a nice polish (Green Canvas) I had a BF maker make me a matching firesteel. The polish doesn't match as it is not polished much at all.

How do I go about putting a sheen on canvas micarta? Is it a matter of simply putting in my buffing wheel?

I buff mine with white diamond compound on a loose cotton wheel

I hand sand to a high grit (1200 or 2k) then buff.

Same here, although most of the time i leave canvas micarta a little rough give a little more positive grip. That may be what this maker had in mind.

Oh yeah - NOTHING on the maker - I love it - just anal and want it to match.

I will take to a high grit (2000) and the buff and post pics. Thanks gents!
