• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

After admiring Gus Cecchini's work on the web, a "brother" introduced him to me at Blade last year. Now I admire the person behind these knives as much or more than his work. Once that combination hits and I am able to place an order the choice is easy.

Seemed pretty natural to order his Crystal slipjoint for some reason.;)

I just told him to have fun, use some black lip and grind what he felt.

Rather than ask him to go with specific details, I felt it would be better to turn him loose with the knife.
There was no doubt I would be happy with the result.

Now all that is left is a short wait for a package on it's way from Riolândia, Brazil. :D

This is what is going to show up. Thank you Gus.

Beautiful!
Maybe not so "traditional" relative to what we have seen of
his work recently, but immediately recognizable as Gus' folder!!

All the best,

I see kind of a modern rendition of a traditional design. Probably about as traditional as can be found from Gus. No disguising his crisp and clean execution no matter the style.

Congratulations.

Cool. Ya know, I was trying to draw joking comparisons of influences from other makers and how they merged in the 21st century to combine.

Thing is, the ONLY certainty that I can visualize, is Gus Cecchini's now-unmistakable work.

In a world of his own.

I love this. it's the Gus² folder.

This is what can happen when you turn a maker, whose style you like and whom you trust, loose to create something different on their own.

For comparison below is Gus' Crystal pattern. This is what I saw at Blade last year when I placed the order telling him to basically do what he felt like doing.

.... telling him to basically do what he felt like doing.

Giving an artist you admire full freedom - is the best way
to get him to do something unique and exceptional!
