A Note of Sincere Thanks

A month ago I managed to break the “skull clip” on my EDC Chaves 229. I contacted Chaves to purchase a replacement only to discover that they do not sell parts for their knives.
I posted the above here on the Forum and was somewhat shocked to receive an offer of a clip from member Hvactech and an offer to anodize the clip (black) from member gte217e. Neither member would accept any payment for their assistance in making my favorite knife functional once again! (See attached photo)
I want to publicly thank these two terrific members for their kindness: two truly great examples of what makes this such a wonderful place!

Let me tell my story about elde66. Several years ago when I first joined the forums my first three purchases off of here I was scammed. I didn't know the first thing about buying off the forums and it was at Christmas time. I posted in here about what happened to me and for everyone to watch out. Also one of the knives that I got scammed out of was an otf that I was going to give to my son as one of his presents. Next thing I know elde66 is messaging me wanting my address as he wanted to send me a new otf knife. I tried to pay him for it but he wasn't having it wouldn't even let me pay for the shipping. He renewed my faith in people and honestly I probably wouldn't have stuck around here after that happening to me. So the clip I sent you was the least that I could've done, I'm just happy to have been able to help you out as you're a great person. I'm glad I stuck around because there is so many good folks in here it has way outweighed the bad experience. Hope y'all have a great rest of the week.
