Micarta pins? Never heard of that before. Very interesting!

Nice looking knives :)

I really like using the micarta pins(I've found them in black and brown), it gives good contrast and sands a lot like wood and Kirinite which makes finishing much easier.
 
They can be ordered in several colors from industrial suppliers like McMaster Carr. It comes in 2' and 3' sections usually. It is called garrolite in industry. It also comes in tubes which make great thong tubes or tube rivets.
