I recently received this piece from Brad Fairall Ghostmaker. I dont buy thumbstud openers much anymore as my cravings are mostly for flippers and autos, but this one really grabbed me and I could not pass it up. This model is called the Reflection. Basically the name was derived from how the knife looks in the closed position with matching detailed work on both sides
resembling a sort of reflection. The knife is really tops all the way around. Great hand satin work throughout with contoured carbon fiber overlays. The framelock features two detents and locks the blade open like a bank vault. It features phosphor bronze washers in which the blade glides open on and stays perfectly centered and in place when closed within the handle with just the right amount of detent. The 6AL-4V titanium handle on this model feels GREAT in hand as everything is radiused on all sides
no sharp edges. The blade is CPM-S30V and has a nice hand rubbed satin finish, maintaining the blades nice grind lines.
I like a folder that has a lot going on it and this one clearly does. Lots of nice touches - perfectly machined backspacer that protrudes just slightly as an added touch to aid in grip, dual thumb studs that function perfectly in opening and an integrated lanyard hole. The titanium pocket clip is nice and thick and yet slides onto the pocket without having to manually lift the tip up and on and yet does not protrude enough to effect the overall grip of the knife. The handle is also tapped and Brad included an extra pocket clip to allow for tip down carry.
Very pleased with this piece! Great work Brad!
Now for some pics. I took some 360 degree angles of the knife closed on both sides and then some with the blade opened.
