A person in General Forums taking a cheap shot at Ernie

I feel that I should not have to repeat myself again but for the record I was not taking a cheap shot at E.E. I was pointing out the personality of a very charismatic figure can often overshadow a good knife or over promote a bad knife.
I buy a knife because I like the knife not because it was made by so and so or because it has some famous guys sig line. I dont care if the knife was designed and built by Charles Manson or Charles Bronson. Is the knife by itself a good knife sans all the personality behind the product? If it is then I buy it.

BS!:thumbdn: For the record, you still have not taken back what you said, without any basis at all, about Mr. Emerson's "questionable" background:

Judge the knife on the knife not on the signature of the guy otherwise we should all quit buying knives made by Mick Strider or Ernie Emerson both of whom also have questionable back grounds.
In my opinion, you still owe him an apology, or at the very least a retraction, for making a baseless and utterly careless remark just to prove a point!

Um... So which is Mr. Emerson and which is Mr. Strider? Not picking on you, it just seems kinda like a weird statement.

Oh, and I'll say this, if you lie about your service record, that sucks. If you carjack someone that sucks too. However, people can change. A felony doesn't make you a horrible person in and of itself. Richard Marchinko is a convicted felon (conspiring to defraud the US Government I believe), and one of my favorite authors. Indian Larry was a convicted felon (armed robbery of a bank), and yet he made some of the most beautiful motorcycles ever. I'm not saying Mr. Strider was right, but I'm also saying that he is only part of the Strider operation, and still makes good knives. I had no opinion really of Mr. McClung before I read some of his posts over on his site. In my considered opinion, he's a schmuck and an absolute tool. Just a thought.
