A picture, A question and A skill

What primitive culture do you admire most, and why?

I guess it would the Aboriginies. They survived in the worst of it. And they refuse to give in to the modern world. Some might consider that stupid, but it seems cool to me.

A skill I need work on is making a fire without using a match or a lighter. I always give up and use the bic.

My question has to with fishing because I love to fish. What is the biggest fish you have ever caught? If you don't fish than maybe ... Where is your dream outdoor vacation? ( I would love to go to the northern coast of Lake Superior. Or New Zealand.)

Nice to see some faces here.

The Aboriginals got my vote as well, as soon as I learned they drank Kangaroo Blood to rehydrate in drought conditions...that is survival, hell those guys thrive in the the worst conditions I can think of.

biggest fish ever caught was a 72# paddlefish in the Yellowstone River- might not meet the strictest definition of fishing as they are plankton eaters and have to be snagged, my next biggest fish (real fishing :)) was a 31 # Lake Trout out of Flathead Lake.

skill I'd like to work on is friction fire, never attempted it, but plan on giving it a go sometime

question for the next poster- what was your most grueling hike (or outdoor "adventure")?
