A present from up North arrived today...!

Congratulations on a beautiful gift. The generosity here on the porch is amazing and I for one am enjoying your posts and am so glad you are here.

Does this piece date from the time before GEC produced the sheepfoot-caplifter combo? I.E. please show us a pick of the pile side with the blade open (so we can see the serial number). If so, you have a very unique piece, comprised of two different #15s and some would debate setting a trend for the beerlow, oh boy, I may have opened up a can of worms here.

And I might add, probably during a time when Esnyx spent a ton of time here on this porch. Now, as a testament to his work, he's too swamped to get on here anymore. Evan is a gr8 guy, so is Canuck, and well you have been graced by the porch. Enjoy!!!

Whatta beauty! You're gonna love the beer scout. I don't care for 2 bladed knives much, and I'm not an alcoholic, but I carry my clip point crown lifter every day. Suuper handy little knives.

That'd be a question for Mr. Canuck. All I know is that Esonyx apparently made the mesh himself. The history and composition remains a mystery to me.

I helped Evan (Esynx) make the composite on your knife! We made it from some canvas that was dyed black but then washed and ended up being sort of dark purple. The mesh is aluminum, re-purposed from something else I can't remember at the moment.

Here's a Sodbuster Jr that Evan re-handled for me with some other composite we made.

That is one of the most beautiful Sodbusters I have ever seen Phil. Thanks for sharing!

I think you can make out the tang stamp in this picture.

Also, the other side, just for giggles:

Yep, it took two different #15s to put that combo together. A scout or boys knife and a radio or crownlifter jack style. Thus the slogan was made, "beer scout"......cool bit of history you have.

And just what did you open the worm can with?

I'm glad you like it! I definitely remember making that one, and it sure is sweet! Mike made a great choice in the materials used in that knife. Enjoy it!!

Hey Josh! Yes, that one is from before the Beer scout was ever made. It was pieced together from two different knives, and was part of the trend that later became the "Beer scout".
