This is a suggestion. How bout we make a sticky of all the members on this forum that provide a service like custom scales, kydex bending, blade etching, leather and what ever I cant think of right now. It would be nice to have one place where a noob or anyone else can go to to find a service they might be needing. Just a thought from a simple minded guy.
Cheers

I already suggested this. Was told they would talk to the higher ups at Bladeforums since it....I forget exactly. Its a rule grey area. We will see.

I thought it might be a little grey, but I still think it would be a good idea if we could pull it off. There is a huge amount of talent among the BeckerHeads and no need to look else where for just aboout any service one might be looking for. This might be a good time to re-address the issue.

I really like this idea also. I had an idea I thought about posting but thought that it had either already been brought up or it was just never gonna happen anyway so I didn't but I personally think it would be cool I'd their was a trading thread here in the Becker sub-forum. Just so we could trade Beckers and Becker products with fellow Becker lovers. Wishful thinking

A trade and bartering section would be great, but I think that really is pushing beyond the rules. I was thinking something simple like:

Kydex:
xxxxxxx
xxxxxx

Leather:
xxxxx
xxxxx

Scales:
xxxxxx

Blade mods
xxxxx

No advertising-just a list of service providers.
Sorry if I opened a can of worms.

The folks listed would have to have the appropriate BFC memberships. A central list is advertising.
As for the trade forum, that would open a whole can of worms about oversight. The trade forum mods have their hands full enough without having to look in on Becker.
And believe me, the Becker mods don't want that headache. Just too many people would find loopholes to try and sell their goods without the appropriate Gold membership.

This would be incredibly helpful for newbies to becker that want to start customizing/buying beckers.

Thanks for the moderator input. Yes, a listing would be advertisement. And, yes, I can see how the trade/barter part would clearly be a whole different animal. I was just thinking a listing of qualified paying BF BeckerHeads that would eliminate the need to go back through pages and pages of threads looking for a provider that offers a particular service. I appologize if this has been discussed before and found to be not do-able. If that's the case, I will quietly slip back into my corner and color.
Thanks again

I'll talk to Moose about it this weekend, and we'll get Bladite in on the mix. I don't see how it would be a problem if the folks had the right membership.
Keep in mind that there's a difference between Gold (just selling personal knives on occasion) and KnifeMaker/Craftsman/Service Provider Membership. It's a $30 to $35 difference in annual dues.

And let's not forget coatings like DuraCoat! :D

Yeh that would be cool. A locked sticky thread that one would need to submit a request to be added to. I like it. I've been debating going orange for a little now myself. Just worried once its not longer a fun hobby that I will grow to dislike it. Enough off topic stuff before Bladite smites me....yes something like that would have my vote as well.

I was going to say you could probably keep it hobbyesque, Clich, but then I realized that with your demonstrated skills, and the fact that I'm pretty sure you have a lock on your particular niche, that you're gonna have a lot of business.

I like this idea, plus it would cut down on the does anyone make xx threads. I wouldn't mind a becker trade forum either.
