A question about Scallion blades.

Why do some have 3 holes at the top of the blade and some don't?

Even on the same model like my redsmoke Scallions...

I believe the newer Scallions have the 3 holes in the blade. I could be wrong though

I think its the newer models like brand said. i only think so because I never see any scallions for sale that dont have 3 holes now. I think they did it to reduce weight, and it just looks cool. lol.
