A question about the profile of Ray laconico handles

Very comfy handle... No hot spots even when used all day. The spine does great heart wood scrapings for tinder and hits the fire steel like the awl on a SAK.

Sorry for the bad pics... the paracord is my dangler attached with a split ring key chain.

I thought this was a legit post and Ray was saying he was retiring from the biz! Scared the crap out of me!:D

I love ray's work, especially his folders, but I don't know if I could get a folder in these days, with customs new laws. :grumpy:

All the same, I might send a few designs to him!

If you end up getting anything, SouthernCross, share it here!

Mick - Since I am one of the people who ignored you, I'll try to make it up here (I didn't get a chance to take pictures of that one knife before I gave it back to Ray).

I have five knives from Ray, and I have handled quite a few more. The knives pictured here are typical of his work. As has been noted, he has done other shapes, from flat to round, but if you request something he will be able to accomodate your wishes.

Here are a couple I just took pictures of. The answer to your question is there is no typical way I do my handles. I don't do all my knives the same. Some are really round and others are completely flat. It all depends on the knife, my mood, customer's request, etc. Since I make custom knives, I can make it any way my customer wants and I'm willing to do.

Rest assured, that if I end up getting one of Ray's blades, I'll certainly share what I think of it after using it for 6 months (sorry, but I don't post knife reviews without using them for at least 6 months)

Kind regards
Mick

Here are the handles of a recent bushcraft blade I got from Ray.
