A question for handgun owners.

Virginia has been a 'shall issue' state since 1995. The state does require 'proof of compentency' with a handgun. I have taught NRA certified concealed carry classes since '93. Besides the obvious requirements of being able to safely carry, store and use a handgun, I focus on ones attitude...a firearm is the LAST resort...you should not want to use it, but you must be willing. While some earlier posts have listed 'prohibited' areas, any business or private property can post 'no weapons allowed'.
I personally carry 24/7/365. .357SIG and .32 Seecamp.
Interesting sidenote: many predicted Virginias cities and towns would have blood 'running down the streets' once citizens could carry concealed. Guess what? Ain't happened, but violent crime rate has dropped substantially. Rekon the bad guys don't know which victim is trained and armed?

Another Oz inhabitant, I was very interested in the reponse to Gadjinoz's query.
Larry S's link to packing.org was particularly interesting, viewing the results of the polls that have been conducted on CCW matters in general.
I guess that that site would be populated by people with an interest in guns, but it strikes me that there is a pretty high percentage of males over 30 that carry where it is permitted.

I believe being a burglar would be a fairly high risk occupation in many US states. :)

Fascinating stuff. Thanks to all contributors.

I would carry every single day, everywhere (outside of restricted locations), if I didn't live in CA
