Hay its an interesting question most people in Australia dont know that platypus is venomous but yes you are right its rear claros contain venom. Most Australians don't know about that because three are almost no recorded cases of people binge stun you see platypus is a very hard to get animal it's mostly nocturnal and will live the aria as soon as it suspects human presents. It is a non aggressive animal and will probably resort to its venom as a last resort unfortunately I am not sure of what the effects of the venom are and I can't find anyone who dos.
The show said the venom messes with the chemicals in nerve receipters, causing highly mind numbing pain while blacking and swelling up the skin.
It would look and feel like a bruise you would get if you hit your thumb with a 20 lb./10 Kg. (hope I have the weight conversion right) sledge hammer many times over.
