A question for Warren Thomas experts

They are also metal detector friendly.

I'm not quite sure how this works guys I just signed in to use the forum to ask where the best place to find a spyder Co would be and it routed me straight to this discussion on what appears to be a very rare and beautiful blade.

I need an ID on this one. I just got it and don't know what it's called.

What you've got there, CM, is a tanto-bladed version of the Model 12. It's not, as someone else suggested, a one-off, but it is definitely pretty rare. I've not seen many floating about. Nice score!

Sweet! Thanks for the clarification.

Isn't the carbide magnetic ?

Nice, CM.

Not in my experience. I have tested other carbidized Ti items in walk through metal detectors.

On the plus side a Ti/carbide blade will plow through cardboard and doesn't really need to be resharpened. It's about a 70 HRC right?

Rust proof, very light, and definitely won't set off a metal detector. The carburizing adds hardness to only the edge, the Ti-CF is tough but not normal knife steel tough. Without question ideal for a person that wants to keep a low metallic signature.
