I think this is the appropriate place for this question. About a week ago, either the 18 or 19 of Dec, I sent an email expressing interest in a knife that is for sale on the exchange. Well, the for sale post was a couple of months old but the post did not say sold. But that is not important. I haven't heard anything back.

Here is my question: Should I try sending an other Email or would that be considered rude? And if should send an other Email, how long should I wait before sending the email?

Bad time of year to be waiting on a response in relation to an older for sale listing. No accounting for a person's movements/priorities at this time of year. I would personally waiting till after the 1st before I considered another e-mail.

Could be the seller never got your email, or hasn't seen it yet. Some people change email addresses often, and many are occupied with non-knife activities this time of year. What I would do:
- Reply to the For Sale post, bumping it to the top to maybe catch the seller's attention.
- Visit the seller's profile and learn when was the last time they posted at BF - perhaps they are no longer active members here.
- Start a topic in The Good Bad and Ugly forum section "Does anyone know how to contact so-and-so?"

Andy & Bob have the right idea. I will add:
Sometimes a knife may sell, and the seller abandons the thread all together. No rules are broken when this happens, they either forget to look and update their thread or they get lazy and dismiss it.
The holiday season is somewhat of a tricky time of year to dig something up, especially if it is over 1 month old. Threads move fast in the Exchange.
Bumping will not do much, it's been disabled for years due to unrelenting abuse by some individuals in the past. Threads are now posted from newest to oldest by default.

My recommendation is to post a visitors message in the sellers profile, and send another email. Keep in mind, many folks go on vacation during this time, to visit friends/family, etc.

Andy, Bob, and Revdevil, thanks for you replies. I sent the email with the assumption that the knife had already sold but thought it would be worth a try.
I have had the thought that he might be on vacation. The seller was on here the night after I sent the Email.

To avoid spam, Some people have email addresses they use for special purposes and they may not check them on a regular basis.

Another possibility is your first email (especially if you emailed threw the forum) got put in his junk folder and he missed it, I would send anothe and leave a visitors message or PM informing him you were interested in his knife he was/is selling and that you've already emailed him.
