A question of Rayskin wallet owners

I'm onto my second one in a decade (the interior cow leather wears out way before the rayskin) and have never had any problems with any of my clothes being abraded by it. Quite the contrary, most of the nodules of the rayskin itself that are exposed to one's pocket material smooth down with time.

The big problem with them is that they will destroy your pants.

It's like carrying a wad of sandpaper in your pants. As you move and the fabric moves back and forth over the abrasive surface, the fabric will be worn down. This is mostly a problem for people who wear their pants very tight such that the fabric of the pants will be pulled tight over their wallet.

I haven't had any problem either with the rayskin abrading my pants - but I wear all my clothes fairly loose. The rayskin has more of a smoothly pebbled surface than the sandpaper-like denticles of sharkskin.

Just as an aside, I sometimes get compliments about the wallet. People who haven't seen rayskin are fascinated by it and people who know what it is give their nod of approval. I even had a couple of Asian guys at the cleaners tell me it was "good luck." I told them I hope so and will know it's good luck if it fills up with money. :)

A colleague came back from Nigeria with ratskin shoes, hair included. Great stuff.

I once had a goat scrotum skin wallet (could be faked). Stolen. Where can I get another one or the leather to have one made up?

They sell kangaroo ones over here ,no hair on these ones though.:)
