A question on bone.

The next evolution in bone will be from the uber expensive bone from Japanese Kobe cattle. All that natural and anti-biotic free organic milk, grains, Asahi beer, Trice daily hand massages, and roomy comfortable quarters produces a bone quality and density second only to non-porous metals. Kobe Beef Bone futures should be in every man's investment portfolio.

Based on a conversation I have had with a Japanese knife maker friend they are using it as we speak. It is denser and more difficult to jig as I understand it. I have a sample I intend to have used on a custom slip joint one day.

one forumite pointed out that all the bone that Case uses is stabilized.

I called Case and left a message asking if it is true that Case uses acrylic stabilized bone. They called me back and left a message saying they had never heard about using acrylic for that, and that they definitely do not use acrylic on their bone.

Now that was just a female voice on the phone, I dont know what the persons qualifications were. If the person that posted the original claim has evidence, please share it, otherwise.. I call Hearsay! A statement based on facts not currently in evidence :-)

fwiw, I have made the same mistake myself. I wrote to GEC and asked if their woods and bone were stabilized, and the answer I got July 30. 2013 was
"All our wood is stabilized when we purchase it.* We process the bone in house."

I ran with the assumption that GEC had said yes, we stabilize our bone in house, and made numerous posts claiming the bone on GECs, including Charlows, is stabilized.. Apparently I misunderstood.

When Charlie bet me a penny, that I was mistaken, I asked GEC again, this time the reply (from the same person) on 12/19/13 was
"The only thing we use that is stabilized is Primitive Bone.* All the rest of our bone is not stabilized nor are most of the woods.*"
