Hey gang, i've been searching for a knife to add to the collection.
I have production KB's
I have traditional KB's

I'm looking for a top notch, quality EDC usage fixed blade Karambit.

I find the Striders to be too rough in quality and blade grind and not enough curve in the blade geometry, the traditional are too poor quality overall and the carry sheaths leave a lot to be desired.
The Randy Doucette Cyclone is perfect! but impossible or difficult to find. There must be something out there that is actually available for sale. my price range is up to 500.00 been searching but all of the great knives have that dreaded "SOLD OUT" located below the price :( and I don't want to wait 8-10 more weeks for someone to build one.
the rest of the knives that I find are "Vulcan" science fiction or Ninja (Smirk)style :( Lame
I want a good knife with a great paddle or pocket sheath no frills just solid smooth functional and well made.

Any advice out there from you Karambit afficionados?

Strider makes at least three different versions of the Karambit, maybe more. The HS, PS, and ST.

If you would be willing to wait, I'll be if you asked Strider, they would make either the HS or PS with a stone washed finish for you.
Given how much you are willing to spend they might even make one to your specs.

The TAD site shows three of the Strider karambits.

I'm rather fond of my Strider HS.

Good luck,

I always found that Emersons make some of the best Karambits, both folding and fixed.

The cold steel one is a bit a joke, the Spyderco folding one was cool, but impractical (too little blade, too much handle) Emerson makes a good compromise.

expensive though :(

If you consider the Randy Doucette Cyclone "perfect" - why settle for less? Have you contacted him to see how long it would take to make one for you? He's an excellent knifemaker - and a great guy! For the sake of some waiting time, why deny yourself?

Forum member RDT makes one hell of a nice karambit. A friend of mine let me play with his Model 10, and it was something special. Impressed the heck outa me.

Makes sense to me. ;)

Thanks to all for the great input!!
I took your advice and just purchased (It should arrive this week!) Randy Doucette's standard Karambit, and am waiting for him to finish a Cyclone (6-8 weeks) for me. I'm telling you "If you want to chat with a guy with great customer service and a great product, call or e-mail Randy.

I do own a Derispina Model 10 it's a great knife! Yea, my wife asks me often "How many knives do you really need???" I grin an evil grin and say...Just one:)"
But, i like to have a choice!
