“The Sheffield Bowie & Pocket Knife Makers 1825-1925” By Richard Washer. Hardcover, about 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, 144 pages. Published in very limited edition in England in 1974 this book contains hundreds of names and reproductions of trademarks and knife imprints. Lots of illustrations and some nice old photos, too. It even has the street address of the makers of these knives.

It is probably one of the most complete collection of this information ever printed. The book also has the original dust jacket – a bit frayed and showing signs of wear, but still there after over 30 years.

I have no idea of how to attach a photo to this listing, but if you would like to see photos of the book, please e-mail me and I'll send 'em.

If you collect these blades or just want a rare edition to your knife library, this is your chance to get a copy of a book that is not seen on the market too often. One odd thing: several pages in the introduction are missing. They are not torn out; they were never in the book. Maybe there was a mistake in the index? Anyway, other than that, it is in fine condition and complete.

As to trade, I would like to swap for a Left Handed Sebenza – large size - , or something like it. "User" condition is OK. Open to suggestions for other stuff, too. Leica equipment?
