Very high saber grind that forms an ultra-strong upswept point with BAT (Busse Armored Tip) . If offers awesome piercing ability with amazing tip strength. There is a very generous choil that allows you to choke up on the blade for detailed work and after that the talon hole. This also serves as an underguard that prevents the user's hand from ever slipping onto the sharp edge. There is a particularly large thumd rest that extends for 1.5".
In Jerry Busse's own words "The bevel is different on this particular run than on the regular combat grade HG-55 in so far as it has a hollow or concave bevel along the straight cutting edge and features a very beefed up convex bevel along the forward sweep of the cutting edge near the point. You can see where the deep concave grooves end and convex bevel begins. This gives the Mil. Run HG-55 a bomb proof tip while maintaining excellent cutting power. The regular Combat Grade HG-55 features the hollow or concave bevel all the way to the tip." The fourth photo shows clearly this particular and ultra-rare tip formation.
The handle is made of Tan Canvas Micarta and sculpted like a herring bone. It offers a very secure grip while makes the knife very fast in the hand: you can switch from forward grip to a reverse edge out ice pick grip faster than you can think of it. It also gives amazing comfort to the users hand. Furthermore, the contours of the handle make it fit the hand like a glove. The full tang of the knife extends past the handle to form a highly versatile pounding surface. There is a lanyard hole in it.
This is a very strong, versatile knife. Consider it like a persian fighter on steroids! It can serve as a GI's knife, a hunter's knife, an adventurer's or, a bushcrafter's knife. Alternatively, you can just make a safe queen out of this beauty as just keep it intact as due to its rarity, this will only increase in value.
