A rare glimpse of an old knife making technique in use

Yes thank you Barrett :) Stan still speaks about Ted with great fondness and respect

Very cool glimpse into the past. I have enjoyed watching Roy Underhill for years. His show helps keeps old ways of doing things from being lost completely. Stan Shaw is still doing things the old way. Keeping history alive and traditions going is part of what makes this forum so special.

Thank you Jake, makes me understand better how this alien tool really works.
Thanks Duncan and Jake for the wonderful photos you've added.

Thank you again Jake, and Mike my friends, Jake...do I get a whiff you are going over to meet Jack? I hope so because that will be a Great Read, not only is Jack a wonderful person and friend, he is indeed a wonderful host - extremely gracious - and a walking History Tour around the Sheffield District - I absolutely loved every minute with Jack, I was worried about poor Sue- I thought that she being a non Knifey - would be bored to tears - She as well loved it!

Jack and i talked this morning over the phone again about Stan - I am so glad Jack gets to visit Stan on such a regular basis and has developed such a friendship with Stan - BOTH men are very lucky.

I would drop everything in a heartbeat to become Stans apprentice.

Thank you, as ever, for your generous words Duncan, and for calling me (last night here in the UK), I am still on a high from talking to you, it was a real pleasure my friend :) I am very grateful for the time I get to spend with Stan, and our visit was the start of that friendship. It was a treat to be able to show you around Sheffield, and I wish that day could have lasted forever. Sue is an absolute trooper :)
