Ive been trading through ebay and before that mail order and now here since the early 1980's or longer.I ship 100's of packages a year now and the only time a package has gone bad was when i screwed up the address.Even those couple of times the package found its way back to me.Here's what happened today. The postal carrier (rural) pulled up into my driveway.I have them sweet talked and trained to do this when they have lots of packages or i have a pickup. They actually arent suppose to so please dont tattletell.I actually also have the carriers phone number and call when i need a pickup.Yes,its nice living in a small town.Anyway she pulled up today looking kind of concerned.Turns out a guy ive been trading with in Tennesee sent me 5 knives and a check in a thin manilla envelope. This is what it looked like when i got it.Seriously.Everything is there. So hats off to the USPS.They have a tough job and do it amazingly well imo.

Wow!!

Lucky to be in a small town indeed.
This same thing happened to a buddy of mine who had bought an SNG...sadly he didn't get his knife.

I have nothing but great things to say about the USPS personally.

That's amazing. Tennessee to Texas means the mail went through a lot more than your rural carrier. It went through most of the same kind of machinery and tossing around that mail for the big cities goes through. It's a miracle the contents weren't lost along the way.

I know.My carrier was amazed too and said in Ft.Worth they throw them halfway across the room.Maybe most of it happened in her truck and she didnt want to say.I was just happy it was all there.

FedEx is a joke, UPS is fair, USPS is a great service for a bargain price. Especially flat rate boxes. Just my .02.

The sender needs to read the Sticky: How to package your knives for shipping. What negligent wrapping and security! Yikes!

Props to the USPS. My fave, too.

(Darrin, around here FedEx is king. UPS is a joke. It's all about regional service.)

Really happy for you. It's amazing in this day and age there truly are still some really honest people around.

But it's too bad that their already breaking the rules by picking up and dropping off packages or I'd suggest writing a letter of thanks to their boss.

Hey guy you are lucky as all get out that the package arrived with all its contents. If I were you I would have a conversation with the sender about what to pack in an envelope. I have never sent a knife in an envelope. I have used padded envelopes for scales and ferro rods but knives, uh uh.

I love USPS. I had someone buy a knife from me, but he insisted I ship it with UPS instead of USPS. It cost me double what USPS would have cost to ship it:mad:

I will never use UPS again

He's an older gentleman living in an assisted living facility. He still likes messing with knives and my work so he's all just OK to me!I did tell him he needs to pack a bit more securely.( :
glad it all arrived.
but what was the guy thinking putting all those goodies in that?
