I realized i have quite a few sub group knife collections of specific styles: lock back/traditional, auto, balisong.
But I had no pic of my most common knives. Big/heavy duty or small/light duty EDCs, SAKs, knives just used around the house, beaters, extras.
I organized what was in my nightstand. I added a new handmade slippie I just got (the orange g10 Gene Wiseman front pocket). A simple Buck 424, and a nicer Case copperlock with file work. I've recenty taken out the later two from the "lockback collection" in the safe to put some more miles on and enjoy again.
After organizing them, I noticed the bottom row was all non clips. My recent interest in more simple/tradional knives has influenced how I carry my older clip knives. Three of these had the clips removed and now ride IN my pocket. I even took the thumbstud off the CRKT S-2, it's sleeker than ever.
So here they are:

Nice, what's the one between the case copperhead and spydie, is it the Goddard? Is that a custom?

Gotta love the S2 , my two see their share of pocket time. Thanks for sharing.

What is the orange handled guy , bottom row ?

Tostig

Yeah im definitely seeing the Sog bits on that knife (the funky back like the seal pup, and the old school square logo) are you sure thats a 110? it looks pretty darn close to the 112 i have. the top bolster seems a little too pointed and the curvature of the handle is more top heavy vs the symmetrical 110. also the size looks about the same as the mini-grip and my 110 matches the size of a full grip

Yes, the orange one is a custom Gene Wiseman front pocket style slipknife (no lockback), "ultralite" with only 2 slabs of g10 and an updated D2 blade and back spring. SWEET SIMPLE KNIFE!

Whats the stag handled fixed blade? It looks quite nice.

HEHE, you guys are close. I was in fact looking for a Buck 119 and wanted something different than the black phenolic? so I looked for the stag but it was too much money for me at that point and i wasn't sold on that blade steel for a heavy use fixed blade.
During a search, someone was selling a handmade classic bowie style with "genuine sambar stag" and high carbon blade. The pic showed a "sumner '04" scribed on the stainless gaurd, and another one showed a close up of the Hubertus stamp on the tang with no rostfrei or stainless markings.
I first noticed the oversized fuller/bloodgroove and it reminded me of a Marbles. I figured he bought a Hubertus blank and ground it himself.
When I got it, it came with a lame too tight leather sheath that had already left leather fiber stains on the blade, so it was obviously high carbon, that's why I customized an older Buck Nighthawk? sheath for it.
The grinds aren't perfect, or even symetrical, but it looks VERY handmade and cool. A great user that stays very sharp due to the high carbon. The handle has just enough smoothness and angle to it, for it to be a comfortable user but still artistic.
It was only $50 and worth every penny if not more. I feel I can use it forever and watch the blade patina like a Case CV would, I should use it more.
I've only seen one other listing on *b*y mentioning a custom maker named Sumner and it looked much nicer with more work on it and fittings/material, so I assume he's gotten better. . . ;-)

whats the two about the vintage 112 and the sheath?

Those are:
A heavily used SOG "Magna DOT"? I think it's called. No clip but one hand opening. A quite large/beefy and a well made Seki-Japan lockback with classic SOG outlines.
The one next to it is an older Gerber Folding Hunter. Also heavily used but still plenty of blade, even though it seems to have "shrunk" a little from previous owners sharpenings, and has a slight wiggle.
Stays very sharp, but it's NOT the valuable "HS" blade (High Speed?), and it only has the plain textured plastic handles, NOT the nice wood ones. It's heavy due to thick brass liners, but yes, it's quite the "vintage looker".

PS.
The Buck folder is NOT vintage, but only a well tarnished smaller 112 Ranger from 1990 due to an "X" marking.
A "must have" for any respectible collector for at least around the house jobs if not to carry.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE INTEREST!

LOL. Fooled me.

Nice accumulation so far. Love the diversity.

YES, that's exactly what I was going for in this collection.
As my other more specific/similar collections get bigger, and I run out of room in my 3 other "12 knife pouch" containers, I may end up putting my most "user" type butterflys or automatics in this collection too.
I may be adding some type of Case pattern CV blade with this collection soon, so I can get a nice patina going on a high carbon bladed folder. After that, I might just take a break for a while and just enjoy these more and give them their turns as EDCs or house use knives, while i just admire my other safe queens once a month.

Yeah, that's my plan, but I'll probably just keep buying more stuff than I could possibly ever have time to use. . . . . ;-)
