Here we have the Spydeeco Delica 4. I would like to thank all who recommended me this product. In return, I would like to make a short review to share my thoughts.

First, let's talk about the grip/handle.

At first I was skeptical about the plasticy looking handle. I thought it would feel really cheap, and I also believed it wouldn't fit my hand well. Turns out I was very wrong. The handle feels solid, and very comfortable. I really have the smooth edges to thank for this.

All the corners and edges are extremely smooth, and it just feels natural. The grip on this knife is absolutely amazing. It is really grippy, but not overly sharp.

Next, let's talk about the blade. I have mixed feelings on this blade, but I believe it's more specific to my knife. The tip of the blade isn't too useable, because the knife doesn't come to a point. Let me show you:

The top comes down very straight, but the tip has a funny curve on the tip which makes puncturing things difficult. Other than that I love how thin the blade is

It slices very well, but I could probably give it a quick sharpen. Peeling an apple was good, but I was a little concerned about applying lateral pressure to the blade seeing it's thickness.

Lastly, let's talk about EDC use

The knife slides into the pocket very easily, and doesn't have the stereotypical rough g10. This means it doesn't chew through your denim, and doesn't take a lot of force to pull out your pocket. It also is very thin and lightweight.

As you can tell, it is thinner and smaller than the PM2. This makes for great EDC carry. It can handle all everyday tasks wonderfully if you aren't cutting down trees with it! I hands down would recommend it to a friend who doesn't want to give an arm and a leg to buy a nice knife. Also, if you find your 940 too fancy, and your PM2 too big, then this is the nice alternate. Thanks again for your recommendations! This weekend I'll be reviewing the benchmade 940-2, so stay tuned!

Thanks !
Yes it has that handle shape I have come to be drawn to for practical use. Long, not too wide, squareish cross section but rounded edges.
As far as sideways force on a narrow, QUALITY, blade such as this Spyderco has . . . I would not give it a second thought.
After I intentionally tried to snap a blade off using a vice and apair of huge channel lock pliers . . . I had ground a deep grove in the blade first to act as a stress riser to focus the stress where I wanted it to snap . . .
I bent that blade way, WAY over and you know what ? It came right back to where it had been and didn't even get bent.
I had to get really Western with it using two pairs of huge channel lock pliers and bend it back and forth well beyound what I would ever have thought I would and it finally SNAPPED OFF.
This was on a seventeen dollar Opinel #12. If you have seen one they have a pretty thin blade but a bit on the wide side because it is like six inches long.

Give 'er heck and don't worry about the blade taking it.

Nice review, thanks for posting it. The Delica is one of my favorite folders, ever, but I too have the same opinion of the tip shape. Fortunately it's pretty easy to fix with just some simple sandpaper. Also, don't worry too much about breaking it, the Delica is tougher than it looks. It should stand up to any reasonable knife tasks with flying colors.

The tip isn't unique to your example. They're all like that. I believe they sacrificed the fine point in favor of one that you won't have to baby as much. I quite like it though. Kept sharp, I've never had any issue with the tip failing to penetrate anything.

All the Delica 4's tips are like that. It DOES come to a point; it's just a slightly dropped point. And make no mistake, it is sharp. I prefer this point over the older style Delica tips. For me, it gives better leverage for the types of cutting I do.

Although I normally carry a CRK as my one-hander, on some occasions I will opt to carry a Delica instead.
