A Revishvili - Hancock collaboration

I remember when the Howard Clark blade came up for sale and when Murray bought it. He is to be commended for having the vision of how it should be mounted.

What do you think?

While it's an amazing piece of work, I never have been able to get past the shape of that guard. Something about the tapering thickness & curves, that just personally aren't my cup of tea. On the other hand, I've thought I needed a qama around for a long time. If I win the lottery next year as planned, I'd be looking to commision some of his work. :)

Weird....that close up you just pictured is a different picture than the closeup in the first post. I can see it in the second pic, but the first one still tricks my eye.

Hi David,
I think that to solve the problem you will have to wait for the book
that will hopefully be introduced at the 2009 BLADE Show. There, in
high resolution high-quality printing you will surely find all the answers,
and even ask Tim in person about it...........

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I love the handle, I love the blade (even though I would like it more if it was a bit wider towards the handle), but...and don't stab me for this...I don't really like them together.

To me they look like pieces of two knives that don't really work together. It's not the blade shape that doesn't work with the handle for me but rather the damascus pattern on the blade.

I guess that's why they call it taste - everyone's is different.

David Schott... I know Tim well, and he is not only at the top of the heap for his designs and fit/finish, he is first and foremost a knifemaker and even work like his mosaic damascus dog-bone dagger WILL cut :)

I am going to go out on a limb and say I feel kind of the same as Thor. The filigree just isn't my thing... HOWEVER!!!! I greatly respect Zaza and feel what he does takes INCREDIBLE talent, and all of his work would easily be fit for a museum!!!

(hey, some like blondes and some like brunettes :D )

David Darom, than you so much for sharing... even if a knife might not be my personal favorite, I LOVE to see such high end talent and love the diversity that is starting to show up more and more here. I am one of those "weird" ones that actually LIKES seeing ALL KNIVES, whether they are my "style" or not!!!

Thank you David!!!!

Please keep them coming!!! :D

Sorry David- that one is outside my ability to think! Beautiful, awesome, etc. Most of all, thank you for continuing to broaden my horizons!

Nick, It would be nice to meet you at the BLADE Show. Stop by at Edmund's
table (23-I) and introduce yourself.
This goes for everyone, I would like to put a face and a voice behind the names
and pseudo-names on the Forum.

I might also have some amazing knives (just delivered) to show you.......

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

David.. you might recognize me, but I will look forward to introducing myself for real, now that you will recognize my name.

Incredible work. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have seen some of Gil Hibben's knives with Zaza's handles and intricacy is mind boggling. He is a true one-of-kind artist.

I look forward to seeing you again at Blade.
