I was at the Oregon Knife Collectors Show this past weekend. I had the Archer Collaboration skinner I had just finished with me at Ray and Terry Archers table. My wife and I were standing behind the table, so as not to interfer with any of Ray's potential customers. Ray was extremely pleased with how I finished out the knife.

Ray mentioned to me, as I was putting the knife back in the sheath, that I should hold the sheath near the top, in case the upturned point were to misalign and cut it's way out of the side of the sheath. Sure enough, as I pushed it into the sheath, it didn't follow the welt and the point easily sliced out of the sheath.

If my hand would have been at the bottom of the sheath, I would have embedded the knife into the palm of my hand. When pushing a knife into a sheath, always hold the sheath near the top! I was actually trying to avoid it happening and it happened anyhow.
