The UPS man was extremely kind the other day, and delivered a 12"+ Carbon D Guard and matching 4" Utility/Hunter from Tom Ferry, MS in Auburn, WA. Our plan was to create a modern Civil War set that would have suited a wealthy Confederate soldier in 1861. Harvey Dean's Manassas Bowie was the initial inspiration. Both knives have damascus fittings, copper spacers and superb Tiger striped maple handles. Their fit and finish are above reproach and both designs are elegant and flow beautifully.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Tom, and the knives were delivered ON time & UNDER budget!

Tom Ferry is best know for his spectacular Damascus and will be testing for his MS stamp at Blade 2006.
I will do my best to get some pictures posted ASAP. In the meantime enjoy his Drifter Bowie.

What an incredible Bowie. Can't wait to see the duo ya' got comin'! :D

Oh you great bloody tease! You guve us that mouthwatering description and NO PICS?! :p

Sounds like an awesome set.

Oh baby, those are sweet! I had no doubt they would be. Either knife would stand on its own as a highly desireable blade. Together, they really rock. Congrats to you both on a terrific project.

Thanks for the plug and comments guys.
This was a fun project all the way around and Peter is a joy to do business with, lots of artistic freedom.

Oh,my! What a stunning pair,Tiger striped Maple! I was gonna' say American as hell, then I read the original post,so I'll just say,Southern by the Grace of God. I really dig curly Maple and those choils really look nice. I know you have to be well pleased with these two stunning beauties. You and the maker both deserve a standing ovation. :D

Okay, if we're shamelessly plugging here... IIRC, Knives Illustrated has an article in the Jan/Feb issue on Tom and his shop...

But they mysteriously don't share the story of WHY his shop is soooo far from teh house!

:D LOL!!

Tom, great to see your stuff again. Look forward to seeing more as the new year progresses!
