Place your index finger in the rounded choil for good control and your other three fingers lay comfortably on the curved handle. A husky hunting knife with an unusual piece of cocobolo that book matched very nicely.

3/16 ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60 with a cryogenic quench by D'Holder
Cocobolo handle with an ebony spacerl
Highly polished
Hollow ground
Blade length including choil: 4 3/4 inches
Handle and bolster: 3 3/4 inches
Hand sewn leather scabbard

I have a very similar knife that Gerry made last year and it works very well. My brother thought it worked so well he kept it.
The grip is just about ideal.
 
I REALLY like the look of that knife! Beautiful Cocobolo, but is one pin enough to hold those scales on? A worker like that could experience a lot of abuse... (Thinking specifically about my oldest son!)

I thought someone might question that. There are two pins. I didn't want to mess too much with the nice wood so I hid another 1/4 inch pin just behind the bolster. It is tapered so the epoxy gets a good bite on it.
 
This one looks great too. I love the one you made me. Sits in my palm like its a part of my hand.
