A Slipjoint By Any Other Name....

I notice that Buck slipjoints tend to have a model name, like:

303=Cadet
305=Lancer
307=Wranger
309=Companion

But I can't recall seeing a "name" for the 301 other than "Stockman", is there ever been a "name" for the 301 or is "Stockman" it?
 
301 is just the Stockman.
It never occured to me that the 301 name was a style of knife while the other 300 series actually do have names. Very interesting.
 
you mean like muskrat or trapper....I think we were so new to slip joints at the time we did not know any better
 
Thanks guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again, name me ANY other major knife company, where you can ask a question like mine and get answers from folks as high as high can be in the company!
