A (somewhat belated) 1000 post giveaway

Nice idea for a giveaway Joben, I was going to enter, but looking at some of the other entry I'm going to bow out.

Some great entries here guys, I'm glad I'm not going to be judging between them all. :p

Hello Joben's Mom!
I hope your having a lovely day!
Those flowers are for you!

lol you cheeky devil! :rolleyes::thumbup:

I would set it up for my Mother and Dad. They are both 79yrs old and love to go to friday night High School football games. I could put in some diabetic and other meds + snacks , wipes for cleaning thier Glasses and maybe a small survival Blanket. Thanks joben,

Congratulations on 1,000 posts
I'd probably give it to my brother, since he's been looking for something to put his survival kit in, this looks perfect. Otherwise I'd give it to my dad to keep a small first aid kit in, since he's out on the road a lot.

Then I'll draft my Mother into looking over the entries and picking a winner using whatever judgment criteria she feels like.

Oh, hi there, what a great and generous boy you've raised :D.

I am prepping my nephew's first hunting kit. It will contain a small FAK, field dressing glove set with game zipper, fire starting gear, compass, LED flash light and Boker plus Krein pocket bowie. This bag would be perfect.

I would love a chance, congrats on 1000 posts !!!!!
I hike alot with my 8 year old daughter. I have been carrying a backpack (not in this picture) full of more stuff than I need. Downsizing is something I have been looking into. That pouch looks perfect by itself or in conjunction with another pack.

What I would put in it is, our small first aid kit so its more readily accessible. 1 adult 1 child emergency ponchos. My Fire steel. SAK. Safety whistle. Sm. flash light. Maybe our signal mirror. And a power bar.
Thats what I would try and get in there. Thanks for the chance Joben

*Bump*

I'm going to end this one soon. Last call for anyone who missed it.

Count me in and thanks for the cool give away.

Grats on your 1000 posts!!!

This pouch would be perfect for my 10 year old sons first PSK.
He is getting into hiking with me and really enjoys it.
I plan to get him an Izula for Christmas and this pouch would be a great start to his hiking gear.

Here we are on our first trip.

Just wanted to add that I recently pulled the trigger on an RC 4 and Ryan (my son) will be getting my RC 3.
This pouch would put the icing on the cake.

congrats on 1000!
and thanks for the give-away

that little pouch would make a great psk for an "adopted" kid, kyle.
tho he's 21 now, when i first met him he was 15. still in school, little parental support. so he sorta became a second son. he works most of the time, between riding the rails with the hobo gobblins and other rail kids. he's a great kid still trying to "find" himself. talented artist. being a motherly sort upon occasion, have fixed him up with a few items to help him out and hopefully keep him safe. including some basic instruction on firemaking, shelter building, food gathering, bow shooting, using his mora for fireprep etc. he'd never seen a firesteel before and now carries one with a mora in a nice little sheath he made outta some leather i gave him. he carries a smallish military surplus "man purse" most all the time, this would make the perfect transport for a nice little psk for that bag.
thanks again

If I had it; I would like to make a combination survival/first aid kit. Or else a survival /medical kit.

I would use it to carry whiskey, and share the whiskey with random strangers I meet camping; or people stuck in avalanches.

I've got a school bag with a pocket that's just begging to have a kit in it. It'd be loaded with the basics you'd need on a college campus or around town (my campus allows carry of knives. Also a gun with a conceal carry permit). A minor first aid kit with bandages, pain and allergy meds, and such. I often run to my car for these items out of my large PSK, but it'd be nice to have them with me.

Para-cord, lighter, tinder tabs, izula, batteries, led light, cash... same sort of things in your previous set up with this bag.

Thanks!

very cool.. congrats on the 1K and thanks for the chance...

i or one of my 2 boys, would definitely use that to carry ammo/ball bearings for our slingshots...:D

cheers.. Mike

I'd use it for my own PSK (which is in a perpetual state of almost being all together).

I'm guessing that's not a good example to be setting for the boys in the scout troop where I serve as an adult leader and merit badge counselor. I'd be able to carry a more complete medical kit with me on an every-day basis instead of just throwing a few band-aids in my wallet. I end up giving the band-aids to strangers anyway, and when I need one, I don't have any left. :grumpy:

This giveaway is closed.

There were a lot of really great entries, Mom had a lot of trouble deciding.

But we have a winner:

Congrats on the milestone! And thanks for the chance.

I would regift it to my 5 year old, who is really getting into being a little woodsman. He just got his own leatherman, so he could put that in the side pouch. Then in the main pocket he could carry his travel poncho and compass and a bit of cordage. These are the items he likes to take out with us a play around with building shelters and such. And any left over room he would more then likely fill with rocks and other items he forages for. Loves taking flowers and such back for mom.

Here he is from last weekends outing. He built the shelter all by himself. He was pretty proud of it. Must say so was I.

Congrats skab8541

Mom laughed when she read your post. She says her little boys collected rocks in bags every chance they got too. :D

I approve as well, we both agreed that it sounds like it will go to someone who will appreciate it.

AWESOME! My son is already excited! We will make sure to post pictures of him using it!

And the rocks and such won't end up in my pockets! Well unless they are the ones I pick up!

Thanks a lot!

I will make sure I "pay it forward" when I reach 1000 posts!
