The REI brand ones work great for me. The ones I have have kind of a mesh look to them and are very comfortable. I usually buy all my gear when it is on sell so the price is not as steep.

I deal with a lot of water crossing, moisture, and heat. The biker shorts work great. In cold weather I use the long biker pants under the poly.

When doing light work or just hanging around, I vote for cotton boxers. When really getting down and dirty- goin commando is the only way for me!

Speaking of which...do any of you find that synthetics tend to stink more than cotton? I have a few trail running shirts made of coolmax and similar polyester blends and they really stink after a good run. They do dry much faster than cotton and keep me cool way better, but they seem to absorb odors much worse than cotton.
