A spider for this halloween

Thanks guys and Mike, Sure thing, be happy to share them with you sir!
They were shot free hand, I bumped the ISO up to 200 to help keep things
from blurring too much, the new Canon is suppose to be better about noise
but I don't care for the articulated back so much, so will probably wait for
the Canon G12, anyway, the G11 is odd ;)

Cool I have a Canon G10, that means I can get epic pics like this with practice.

Awesome! I love spiders and all sorts of creepy crawlies. They're fascinating to watch. That's the worst part of the weather getting cooler for me- no more critters to watch crawling around outside.

They're only Cool till: :D
When these guys decide to take a hike arcross the back of your neck or better yet when one wakes you in the middle of the night with their little feet running on you. And that is if they don't wake you with a bite. :D

Great photos, Gary, and being able to see that coiled web reminds me of why I should have got a G10, or even a G7, instead of a Lumix.

I'm told we have the marbled orb weavers here but I've yet to see one. We do have many crab spider species though. They are total ambush predators, just hang out anywhere they seem to think is a good spot with their large front legs spread wide, ready to pounce.

Here's some species or another having a parasitic wasp of some kind over for lunch. :) I want a macro lens in a bad way.
