Emerson has been an itch I needed to scratch for quite awhile now.Was all set to order a CQC 7, but other knives have gotten in the way .

I have a few Spyderco folders, though one of two is always in my right front pocket. At work it is always my Military and when not working it is a Paramilitary 2. That might change tomorrow. I recieved my shipping notification from Blade HQ that my mini CQC 15 is on its way (I sprang for exspress USPS shipping). Can't wait to get it in my hands and see what I have been missing. Hoping I like it enough to switch pocket time off and on with my PM2.

I hope to update this with a pic or two tomorrow. :)

Fantastic! Congrats on purchase! Familiar with the 2 mentioned Spydercos. One thing you will immediately feel is the girth of the handle. The blade is much stouter given the grind work of the blade. No doubt that you will feel the sturdiness of the design. Just remember it will need to break in to fully smoother out it's action (pivot and lock). I forewarn you now, you may become addicted to using the Wave feature.:D

Yeah I wave at work all the time now. Kicked the flippers out my pocket.

Thanks for the tips. I have a waved Matriarch 2, it is a great opening device :)

I have often compared the Mini15 to the PM2 - both are severely great EDC's. I'll echo the break in advice - it's part of the "bonding" experience. Did you go stonewash or BT, straight or teeth? That's one model that's great in all four configurations.

I havnt messed with my pm2 much since my cqc7 came. I like my roadhouse even more lol.I recently sprang for 2 day shipping from bhq hope yours is more express then mine lol

You will love it. I've owned an Emerson Commander and a Spyderco PM2 before, and I regret trading both off. Will one day have both again. Enjoy your purchase.

Well, I did the opposite. Overall, I like the Para Military best. HD7 2nd.
The Spyderhole cannot be beat and the CPMD2, Para1, cuts like a demon.

Congrats! I started with spydies as well, tenacious, pm2, Manix2,delica. Sold them off and started on the Emerson's and it was all downhill from there. Did just add a waved delica back to the rotation though.

A 15 is next on my list as well. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

I have similar experience. Buying my first Emerson was the start of the slippery slope that killed my Spyderco collection. Still have a couple of Spydies, but Emersons have taken over in force. LOL

Would love to share pics and my thoughts on this knife.

But it hasn't been scanned since leaving Salt Lake City yesterday.

It'll turn up soon.... I hope lol :)

I still have and carry plenty of spydies, but Emerson makes some real winners and some are unique (the folding karambits are b.o.b.).

I think you will find most Spydercos 'dainty' in comparison to any Emerson. You should certainly 'feel' the difference right away.

A little secret about Emersons---I'm a big crusader for advising first time Emerson owners of the break-in period and that it may need a few tweaks out of the box. When new, Emersons EVOLVE over time into the gems they are. Be patient and remember this. Most Emerson bashers have either never owned one or didn't allow it a sufficient break in/bonding period.

You ordered a very good, versatile, tough knife. If you have any doubts upon receipt give it a month of use.....

"dainty"?
Some Spyderco knives may be but Spyderco can hold it's own with any brand.
