top khukuri -- Here is one I stashed awhile back because of the rare handle and I just found it again this AM. Obviously a Sirupati -- length almost 16 inches. Blade 3/8 thick, just over 1.25 wide. Weight one pound. Very good fit, finish and hardening. Pretty good scabbard and frog. SN 46. Handle as shown.

Price $125

bottom khukuri -- oversize BAS. Almost 16 inches. Blade 3/8 thick, 2 inches wide. Weight just over 1.25 lbs. Handle had small crack which Pala repaired with very good success.

Price $75

Pala will pay shipping on both. Both khukuris carry full HI guarantee, blade and handle. Call or email if interested.

It looks like I'm to late. I knew I should have come back from lunch on time.

Both are gone in more ways than one. Yangdu just dropped the beautiful gray horn khukuri on the cement patio, butt first, and knocked a big chunk off the end of the handle -- and bent the buttcap. She NEVER drops a khukuri that already has a cracked handle, NEVER drops one with a standard black horn or wood handle. She reserves the dropping of khukuris only for those which have rare handles. Some days I would be better off to stay in bed!

You are right, Sut. More repair work for Pala and a bargain blem soon to appear so stay tuned. Pala is hoping he can save the handle somehow but I don't have much think he can. He is pretty good, takes his time, but I have yet to see him work a miracle and I believe that's what it will take to save this one.

Dyad'ko Bill,

The grey streaked khukuri is one nice looking khukuri. Sorry to hear about the mishap with the handle.

The incident has confirmed one of my long standing theories: Mondays are cursed somehow.

I'm sure Yangdu feels badly about the incident -- she didn't intend to drop the knife. And I think we've all done things we would rather forget. Such as the time, during my flying days, when I created havoc with the tower and every plane in the flight pattern when I came in on the wrong runway. I'm still not sure how I did that.

But maybe it was on a Monday -- and Bob may be right about Mondays.

Steven, there are two kinds of pilots in the world. Those who have landed on the wrong runway and those who will.

The good news is Pala was able to recontour the chipped handle and the khukuri looks as good as new. He is very patient in his work. Much more than me.
