A strange question!

Where does one get a Kumar Karda (If that is the straight knife in the picture) It looks great and would be a good all around camp knife, right?

p.s.: Welcome aboard, and by the way, a Kumar Karda might be a more kitchen worthy blade if that's really all you're after.

The Kumar Kardas are a regularly stocked item, check here http://store.yahoo.com/yhst-7333098713883/specialitems.html

Might want to e-mail Yangdu as well, the troubles in Nepal have resulted in her running low for now on some items.

Hi,

Many thanks for all your kind responses! There's no doubt where I'll be buying my khuk from.

Just to clarify, I'd like a kuk for other reasons besides that mentioned in my original post. I'm looking to go on a jungle trek in S.E. Asia this summer, and feel the kuk would be perfect for this. It's just that I want to keep the kuk busy and most of the time it'll be around a kitchen.

Thanks again!

Best wishes,

Hamish

Stop in again, hamish. People who go walking in the jungle of SE Asia are friends of ours.

If you're going into the jungle, I'd have to recommend that you consider getting one of the lighter models, unless you think you'll be doing a lot of chopping. My thoughts are that you'll probably be doing a lot more brush clearing, etc.
