I asked my friend DrOpPoInT1110 today if I could take his Esee Izula home today to mess around with, and decided to surprise him with this. Its my first knife handle braid, so please let me know how I did. This thread will be his surprise:

Ummmm yeah gee, he told me he wanted it done in Ranger Green 550 cord, sooooo....
Ha! Just kidding, that looks great! What a cool idea and a great way to surprise your buddy. Way to go.

Damn, i wish i had a friend like you....i'd let you take home all my stuff and then some:) Great job!

Certainly seems a lot more neat and tidy than what I did to my pink izula:thumbup:.
Did you melt it at the end of the handle? I can't quite see it, and I've been having trouble keeping that last bit from flopping around without doing that.

Yes, I did melt the end quite alot. I had no idea how to tie off the end of the wrapped ring so I kind of fuddled it and then melted it till it was pretty much solid. The knot does NOT move at all now, haha. It's frozen solid on there. With the amount of melting I did to it, I'm surprised it didn't end up looking like a giant turd on the end of the handle.

This entire project was an experiment for me, I had no plan or guidance when I did it; and I am extremely surprised at how well it worked for me on my first try.
Can't wait to do more! Got my own Izula on the way that I'm very excited about. I've been looking for the ideal small fixed edc, and being fortunate enough to
have a good friend handy to help steer me in the right direction as I move forward in collecting knives, I think I've found it.

Thanks for the kudos guys, I enjoyed doing it.
