That work of art is breathtaking! You have exemplary taste in knives, Dave. It is good to see it in the hands of someone that can appreciate it.
I just did a little research on this one and found this. I think it's pretty credible since the author is the owner/operator of a web site devoted to Yellowhorse collectables. It appears that my buying price of $165 delivered complete with the original walnut box and the plaque was a pretty good deal. They have an "asking price" of $495 plus shipping.
"Buck 112 by David Yellowhorse entitled "Mustang" these knives were made in 1992 and there were 6000 of these knives produced with the mirror polished blade . The first ones for Sharper Image and the last ones for Buck. This one is one of his earler knives produced for his Dad to sell in the trading post. It has a satin blade instead of polished and is signed on the bottom of the rear bolster instead of the blade. there were less than 20 of these made. Knife features inlays of Desert Ironwood, Red Coral , and Turquoise. Comes in a wood display box. this is one of the harder knives to find in the Buck 112, and a valued edition to any Yellowhorse collection."
I believe that mine is the one described in red.
Here's the one described above and it appears to be identical to mine except it's a bit shinier and the turquoise is a bit different.
Such a striking knife and great deal there Dave . I wouldn't bet on getting another package deal that sweet . Very glad you got it and thanks for showing us . DM
