A Tactical Straight Razor?!

Much more a knife than a straight razor. There are so many ways in which one needs to grip a straight as the face has so many contours. The only conceivable use as a razor I see in this is for shaving back hair. Which I don't have. Interest though, but I'll stick with my Dovo.

Extrema Ratio definitely did not design this knife for grooming...... Unless maybe a Sicilian necktie is grooming...

Here's what they wrote about it on their website:

"Up to the early 1900s, people commonly carried pocket utility knives. Due to rampant “misuse”, though, laws were passed to the effect that all such knives were to be clipped at the blade-tip, in order to diminish their dangerousness as weapons. Some people then figured they’d get the greatest effectiveness out of the sharp edge of a traditionally flat-point blade shape, and took to carrying straight-razors. Thus, the straight-razor was for a time regarded as a fearsome weapon of self-defense. Such a “misuse” of the common straight-razor inspired our T-RAZOR design. Available versions: T-RAZOR BLACK, T-RAZOR SATIN."

I agree about the similarity to the Haddock. But this razor has a really straight edge whereas the Haddock has a useful curvature to the edge and a decent point. On topic: I didn't use to have back hair either, back hair happens.

Aside from practicality, I don't like so many huge billboards on the blade of the T-Razor. Resolza is the opposite.

Wow. Just when thought you've seen it all...

ER makes some wacky stuff but the build quality is very good typically in my experience.

Edited to add that I'd grind that down into a wharnie asap.:thumbup::thumbup:;):D:cool:

In Stephen King's book The Dark Half, George Starks preferred weapon was a traditional straight razor....sure it is a fiction book but cool idea to have the antagonists main weapon to be something not....tactical.

guess it goes to show you the superficiality of "tactical" nowadays.
You tactically shave your beard off yet?

Kind of an awesome update:

I just got one of these (it's gorgeous) and I discovered that the protruding arm that is used to open it works like the Emerson wave. In other words, if you carry it in your right front pocket and slide it out and to the side (like a wave or DPX, etc.) it FLIES open. I am loving this crazy knife!

I completely agree with you there. It is a really cool knife and would be great to have in any collection, only downside of the knife I see is their need to have the writing so big on both sides of the blade. Kinda takes away from the beauty of it.

Yes, I agree, it would be better without the billboard logo, but really, has there ever been a tactical folding straight razor?!

As for actual use, the Resolza is awesome! It's basically a modern version of the Pattada and it DOES have a needle point. Also, the Stonewash on the blade is superb. I can't say enough good things about Extrema Ratio. They really have it together.
