A tease....

I'm waiting for an ESEE 45 caliber 1911 or a HD ESEE 6 shot (4" barrel) 357 wheel gun. Why Not?

I guess it's the elitist attitude that bothers me, but I like the idea of a "blade check" in lieu of a coin when playing the game. Either way.

I hear you on the elitist attitude, but one needs to go back and look at the history of a challenge coin. The way they are used today is corny and way off from their original purpose. They are laughable now.

Tripton- Agree it doesn't cheapen the tradition. To those who know the history, the tradition will never be cheapened by marketing fluff. It's just laughable IMO. Kinda like wearing a tactical vest to the mall.

That may be true, and I love the story of how it all started, very cool, but that doesn't mean someone can't buy a coin based on a brand they follow and play the same game.

It's like telling someone they can't (or shouldn't) buy ESEE knives if they're not going to use them. It's their money... so who really cares?

I don't care how somebody spends their $$. I just laugh at the idea. I hope no one shows me one of those chotchkies in person. I'd hate to have to laugh at them.

ok, you stopped teasing and I pulled the trigger on gold ...
now I fear you won't hold off teasing for a year ...

If someone buys a coin everyone else had to earn (as in the armed forces) then I'd agree with you. I was just responding to the statement that any challenge coin has to be earned. No worries though!

Well I served in both the Air Force and the Army and did three overseas tours and never got issued a challenge coin. But my daughter got one at the end of AF Basic. But I did "earn" some money and I might "buy" one. I have one from Scrap Yard Knives. :D

I third you two!!!
I earned the money that paid for the coin and the knives from a GREAT company I'm more than willing to support!!!!!

Maybe we'll all get lucky and McDonald's will start issuing them with every value-meal purchase.

When challenged and you have no coin, you must buy the challenger a medium order of fries and a senior Coke. Works for me.

Man there is a pretty good debate about challenge coins here. I got two challenge while in the Marines. There niffty little keepsakes. As for buying challenge coins it doesn't really bother me. Hell if someone offered me the right money I would probably sell one of my Marine coins. The only problem I have ever had is some douche nozzle getting one then playing that he was something he wasn't.

I have two challenge coins. Both were given to me, and neither were for a personal accomplishment. One somewhat signifies inclusion in a fairly small community (to which I am included). But it still isn't for a specific accomplishment, and I could just as easily have bought it.

I have bought one challenge coin to give to my father-in-law. Again, it is fairly exclusive, and I've thought about buying one for myself. Probably will some day, when I have some spare change on me.

If ESEE were to produce a challenge coin, I'd probably tack one onto my next order, because I think they are cool. And I'd carry it. And show it off. But then I'm the same kinda guy that wears NRA, Strider, and RNC tie tacks on the jacket that I wear around our over-conditioned office. Sh**! I just realized.... I wear "flair!"
