Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right area for a buyers testimony, but here goes.. I'm not the type of person to write reviews, but the satisfaction I have with Knifeworks.com compels me to iterate my experience. I decided to purchase a Benchmade 710 for my dad for Christmas. This was the first Christmas that I was more eager to give than receive as I knew my dad would fall in love with the 710 (his first BM). So, it was much to my dismay when I realized, a week before Christmas, that the engraver at Knife Works misspelled my dad's last name on the blade. My mom gave them a call which resulted in the best customer service I've ever experienced. The owner of Knife Works dropped whatever he was doing to speak with my mom right then and there. He was incredibly apologetic and explained that the engraver he used had messed up once before and that he would likely no longer be using that engraver. Without question, he informed my mom that, no matter what the cost, he would have another 710 engraved properly and expedited to us in hopes that it would be there for Christmas. Upon asking what we should do with the existing 710, he replied that we could keep it as an apology for the mix-up. The fixed 710 arrived the day before Christmas and everything went off without a hitch. My dad loved the knife and I suddenly had one of my own. Everything went better than expected and, in fact, turned out perfect.

So, here's to the honest, hard-working, customer-minded people at Knife Works and their tried and true owner! They made an isolated mistake but went above and beyond the call of duty to make it right; resulting in an awesome Christmas. Thanks Knife Works! I implore everyone to check out their site and consider doing business with them in the future; you won't be disappointed!

Great review, and glad to hear that it all worked out.

Note for next time. stuff like this goes over in the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I've bought 20+ knives from Roger and the girls at knifeworks. Only had a problem one time and they took care of me asap. Don't really miss the overpriced brick and motar store that went out of business. Only wish kniveworks was within driving distance.

That's great. Knifeworks has been great for me except for once. I bought a spyderco warrior from them and when i received it, the blade has scratches on it. I email knifeworks once and they didn't reply. I didn't bother to email them the 2nd time because they have always replied my emails the 1st time i send them, except for this.
I'll just have to send it to spyderco. Their customer service rocks!

Stay away from KnifeWorks.com - repeat offender

Just got off the phone with Knifeworks customer service. I purchased $290 worth of knives; one of the knives (Condor Toloza) had a defective nylon sheath. The nylon sheath top rivet was set in the middle of the sheath entry thus preventing the knife from entering. I called knifeworks.com got my RMA and sent the 1st knife back at my expense (tracking and insurance $$). Received the new Condor Toloza knife #2 and the knife blade likes my 2yr old son did the grinding. The grind is an absolute joke it’s ½”longer on one top side than other, there are deep grooves at the tip of the blade. I call knifeworks.com customer service and asked then for a $20 credit for my shipping hassles. I would keep the knife #2 with its defects and apply the $20 credit towards a ~$100 knife purchase today. After I explained this to my customer service rep I was “disconnected”. On my second attempt customer service told me their manager would not give any credit. I am quite perturbed because knifeworks.com assured me during the first RMA the new Condor Toloza would be inspected (sheath and knife) for any defect before it shipped. There are so many choices on the web for knives I would recommend steering clear of Knifeworks.com. Knife-Depot is a much better bet their customer service is the best.

I'd have to say your experience was rare. I've ordered roughly six folders from an unnamed brand who occasionally has F&F issues from Knifeworks. I, like you, asked in the order comments box that they please inspect the knives prior to shipping. With each order that arrived, there was a check mark with initials by my request, printed on the online receipt copy. The knives were in great shape.

Why not simply return the defective knife in question for a refund or exchange? Your request for store credit, after all, was somewhat unorthodox. Sounds like these defects may be frequent with that manufacturer. Not trying to be inflammatory, just trying to help.

I always wonder when it comes to these 1 shot wonders. Post something from out of nowhere the same day as they register and then drop off the map. They almost look like troll accounts created by competitors or their buddies. I'm NOT saying this is the case here, just thinking out loud.

I have over the past few years placed several orders with Knifeworks, and have been very pleased with their customer service on all of them. They will continue to be my first place to look for future purchases. And yes I always wonder about first post negative reviews also.
