A thank you or two

It was a gurka... Quite nice actually.

I appreciate what all the other folks have said too... I just can't express who all it should be directed to.

Ethan, thanks for the place to crash.

Everyone else, thank!!!!

I'd like to thank tradewater for this delicious Bourbon Barrel Stout.

:D

Ya Pointy.....

That WAS REALLY TASTY brew.......I enjoyed both of them.......The cherry stuff had REALLY nice balance as well as great taste.....

Thanks for all your help and great good cheer.....

Ethan

I think it's important at this juncture to mention that I killed both kegs. Finished them both off with a death blow by me.

Well since this is the thank you thread now:

Mr. Becker, thank you for your extremely unrelenting hospitality. To open not only your land, home and shop, but your own time to our little band of miscreants is amazing and I can only hope to one day return the favor. Then you even feed us to keep us alive to continue the chaos?! To top it all off, you let us run amok in your workshop as if it were our own, astounding! Again, thank you!

Susan, Mrs. Becker thank you for putting up with us and lending us your old man.

John and Megan, thank you for the delicious breads and condiments. I feel you got the shaft by only getting Bladite's chicken-sitting care in return.

Moose - For the prodding of Uncle Weirdbeard and behind the scenes work.

Derek- Thank you for the stainless hardware. For the hammock strap & carabiner that kept my big ass swinging, the amazing breakfasts that greeted me each morning.

Ark- For the breakfast Friday morning and being Irish.

Pointy-Thanks for the liners for my 16, it's a vastly different feel now. For the tasty beverages I helped decimate and for the excellent dishes you served up.

1066Vik- Thank you for the Condor hatchet sir, she's already getting use.

Psyop- Thanks for the free brew that I'm sure Todd has already drank up.

Colonel Defender-For suffering our shenanigans and whatnot with a smile .

Everyone (Mist, Cap'n, etc.) that had a camera to help document this event deserves a thank you as well.

Gutsy- For keeping me laughing everytime you opened your mouth, you're a funny dude.

Biscuit - Thanks for staying awake till you reached the hammock.

Man, it seems like I'm listing everyone and everything I'm thankful for at this event, but really it's that damned good. The level of camaraderie that exists at the gathering has only been equaled in the military, in my opinion. As Mistwalker pointed out while there, you can leave your gear anywhere there and not have any fear of it walking off. It is impressive that we are such a diverse group from so many different places and backgrounds, but still have such a respect for eachother. For those I've forgotten, thank you!

Oh Trade, thanks for keeping the Blackbird safe for me. If I had it nearby I may do something crazy like use it.

You are so welcome. I'm thrilled beyond words that you enjoyed it.

You know I wouldn't do it to you. Seriously, I hope to see you soon and pass it off.

Biscuit - Thanks for staying awake till you reached the hammock.

Not so fast. You obviously missed my power naps by the fire. I, on the other hand, missed the lawnmower.

Heck, where to start.

Murph, thanks for coming early. You saved me a trip driving at night to go get Ark and that was very appreciated. My trip back was harrowing to say the least, but at least I didn't have to make one my first night there.

Ark, thanks for the cigars, the comedic racisms, and everything inbetween. Oh and also for being Irish.

Capn Airyca, thanks for being wacky and off the wall and so very upbeat about almost everything. And for tolerating us and our shenanigans. And for not actually pointing a gun at my twig and berries.

Psyop, mead. Bring more. Much more.

Colonel, it was an honor meeting you and I hope you had a wonderful time. Apologies for our crude behavior and antics, but you hung with us through the best of it and it was a pleasure having you there.

Todd, thanks for the knife. I was dead set on a Yuma, and it is a great knife, but it probably wouldn't have been used that much. The Mogwai on the other hand is awesome, perfect, and will be attached to me pretty much daily from here on out.

Hawk, you sir bring one of the sunniest dispositions and some of the coolest firearms I have ever been able to shoot, and you are always willing to make the extra effort. Thanks tremendously for getting the out of towners to the airport.

Cbear, thanks for snaggin pics and generally being the whipping boy.

Bladite, thanks for being one of the most knowledgeable people about everything ever. Honestly, it was like having the internet there, only with worse hair.

Kyle, it was a blast hanging out and talking to you, getting to know you a little better, and definitely great to learn your ideas on first aid.

Gretchen, it was nice talking to you, and really nice to see that you are there to keep Kyle in line. Also, thanks for bringing that adorable beast of a puppy.

SaturatedShadow, aka Jordan, you held your own, and did so with a quiet good nature that was very sorely needed to balance out the loud brashness of myself and some of the others. Thanks for being there.

Mistwalker, as always, a real pleasure to get to hang out with you, to talk turkey, and all of that. I have always been a fan of your photos, and being there to be in them is even cooler.

Moose, as always, a fantastic time. For those who don't know, ole Moose has some legit nerd cred, and even without booze and shenanigans can have a great time.

Guyon, thanks for taking up the slack with the witticisms and snark.

K9 Handler. the knives you sent via Hawk were awesome, the goodies you sent for giveaway were awesome, and the knife you sent Ark via me was just plain awesome. Thanks.

Oregon Fal'er, the stuff you sent with the Capn was amazingly done, as per usual. You do some of the absolute best work when it comes to handles. Your gifts made a lot of people really, really happy. Thank you sir.

Finally, there are five individuals I would really like to call out on here.

Gutsy, I didn't get near as much time to screw off with you like I wanted to last time, but I say we made up for it this go around. You got my sharpening skills that much further on my knife, and I damn sure want to get together sometime before the next gathering to get some woods time. You and your brother sticking around to help me and Pointy clean up helped us out tremendously. Thank both of you for that.

Phillip, despite being Gutsy's brother, you have overcome that handicap. Seriously though, you had never met any of us, but picked up like you had been there since the beginning. Next time, we definitely will get together on the food.

Pointy, you are my bro, and you were always ready to do the dirty work or help me out, regardless of whether or not it was something you wanted to do. Thanks for being my homie, and always watching out for me. I appreciate it more than I can express.

Erik, dude, your generosity has seriously made it's mark. I wish I could get down to your place next month, but unfortunately cannot. I will say I am going to have a heck of a surprise for you at the next get together though. That knife you gave me is freakin amazing.

Boss, Uncle Weirdbeard, Ethan, and any of a million other things we call you, thank you for giving us a reason to come down there and socialize with like-minded individuals, for treating us to your cooking, to giving us time on your property and in your shop. You sir truly are a gentleman and a scholar, and there is not a person that has met you that doesn't instantly like you. You take the time to get to know each of us, and you can always put a smile on our faces. Thanks for not killing us and putting up with our shit.

To anyone I missed, thanks for at the very least not killing me.

Before this thread turns into an Ellen DeGeneres episode, people should know that most of us go to these gatherings for the long, intense hugs.
This reminds me. My wife noticed a giant bruise on one of my ass cheeks this morning. Does anyone have something they'd like to say?

Rumors are bound to spread. Next spring, we're all getting t-shirts that say, "I felt that in my sphincter."

Um.........no, there is nothing I'd like to say concerning that issue.

I blame old age and treachery............

Homebrew beer, and mead? Now you're talking.... I'd love to make it down to one of these one day. I'd bring lots of my mead, heck I'd probably do up a special batch just for the gathering.

I'd like to say - "it was Brain".
