I was thinking about this earlier this morning and thought why not make a post. We spend a lot of time talking about what good products Mike and Jeff put out (which they do) and I always try to take a moment to thank the mods for all the work they do here because I sure appreciate it.

Just wanted to add in a big thanks to the Rowen clan for their attention to detail and quality and keeping all of us gear whores stocked with high quality sharp things. Best of luck in 2011 and I look forward to some more products with your name on them.

People ask what makes an ESEE knife so [fill in the blank]. The response is often "The Rowen heat treat". I don't know anything about heat treating knives but I know "the Rowen way" sure seems to work. :D

+1. There is no way we could do what we do without the Rowens. We don't brag on our specific knives much (ESEE) but I will say this: there is not a better knife manufacturer in the field (bar none) than Rowen Manufacturing. Yall haven't seen anything yet ;) Rowen's precision and processes are definitely going to be the one to follow in the near future. Give them a little time and you will be amazed, if you're not already ;) We discussed a lot of new deals at SHOT show that will be happening in the future between ESEE and Rowen. Again, we simply shook hands and said "let's do it."

Thank you Shon and Becky and everyone at Rowen. I've gotten a couple of packages straight from them (so far!) and I am very grateful.

Good luck in the coming year, I hope to send some more of my dollars your way! ;)

Sounds interesting...

Shon & Becky are Fantastic people ! I have been talking to them for a long while but finally met them at SHOT.

Shon is a thinker....his wheels are always Burning & Turning ...Trying to figure out how to make things better.... I just watch Shon on several occasions, Look something over, figure out how it works and mentally disect it and build it better and then draw it out on paper or whatever his version of how it should be....
I loved the pinch point topic and his solution around that....
Fantastic Family The Rowens are , Until we met again !

+1 One of the main reasons I buy ESEE knives is that they are made in America. I want to do everything I can to keep that manufacturing base in America!! Thanks Rowen and ESEE

A BIG thank you to Shon and Becky for all your hard work and everything that you do for ESEE and all of us!!! All of your hard work NEVER goes unnoticed or overlooked in the least bit. I couldn't imagine ESEE knives being made by anyone one else, period! You guys rock!!!:D:D:D

yup, Rowens top notch heat treat and the obvious back and forth of ideas between Rowen and ESEE before they decide on the details ... that makes a good part of ESEEs success.

Thank you Rowen.

Yeah, just ask Shon about Geomteric tolerancing. :D

was that the all day discussing on the back of a wendy's napkin.... :D

Yep, we had this guru talker explaining to us what "we didn't know" and come to find out this guru doesn't even know what he doesn't know, so Shon and I proceeded to break it down on scraps of paper and even called in other experts, :D Man, I love technical debates like this.

I had something funny to say but then again I figure someone would lose there place in the conversation and with a partial map sketched on a napkin we'd be lost at SHOT :D

Well, I was pretty intense. I studied on this all the way home. Came home, drew it up in Autocad, sent guru a copy and haven't heard back :D Don't get me wrong, "guru" is a good friend of mine and one of the smartest men I know but he was just wrong on this one and wouldn't accept common sense and I wouldn't accept him not accepting it. Shon and I both were trying our best to explain it to him but it just didn't take ahold. :)

You Can lead a horse to water is all I am saying ;)

Yeah, but he's big horse. I'm damn glad he doesn't get mad easy 'cause he could kick my ass without even trying!
