a time of dilemma...

I'm closer to my bro that I am to my parents. That's cool, since we were at each other's throats for the first 15 years on the planet together. Life's funny that way.

Hang in there, Pen! Best of luck and love to you and your relations.

Keith

Sorry to hear about your brother's situation Dan. I hope all turns out well. He's lucky to have a brother like you:)

Rob

Thanks for the kinds words, guys.

Still have a BAS, 2 Delta-Z folding knives and an ATS-34 folder up for grabs.

If you're not interested, please pass the word along.

I'm trying to get everything outta here by Friday at the latest.

Dan

Here's hoping your brother will find something real soon!!!!

I can remember what it was like to be young and out of work the first few years of my first married life and before I had a trade skill. Sure wasn't easy then and I think it may be worse now.:(

Prayers and Smoke for you and yours Dan.

BAS is gone, but the other knives remain.

I think I'm losing energy...

tell your brother to be optimistic and something will turn up.

Wishing him, his family and you well...

MY CUSTOMISED PENKNIFE MADE BY BURA IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE FUNDS WILL BE SENT TO DAN . YOU HAVE ALL SEEN THE PHOTOS OF IT HERE IN THE THREADS
IT HAS A PIECE OF AMBER ON THE SCABBARD.WHOEVER GETS IT WILL BE ONE LUCKY OMBRE.I WILL FOOT THE POSTAGE. :)

SORRY GONE :(

it will be posted in about 2hrs time .enjoy it it is truly a magnificent khukri, one of a kind.
it feels like a feather in the hand, but is capable of taking of your arm or head.
i tested this penknife khuk against a 18inch ang khola,
on chopping ability,on rock hard fruit wood limb 5-6 inches round, 18angkhols chopped through with difficulty, approx 20- chops.
penknife same difficulty but about 25-28 chops.
this little khuk is deadly,if i was going to have to fight someone in a knife fight armed with a large khuk 18-25inch size, and i had a choice of thev penknife and a large 18-25 inch khuk i would without hesitation pick the penknife.it is devestatingly quick.the other guy would get one swing to your 5-6 it is that quick to handle. and i kid you not about its cutting ability.i have no doubt whatsoever it would easily remove a head.or arm leg ect.and even if it didant the wound would be devestating.
so you will soon find this to be all you need for self protection,be it in the streets,or woods. i will sadly miss it.
i am actiualy desperate for money myself at the momment, but i feel dan needs it more. regards ken :) :)

Do you have pics of the remaining knives you are selling? Perhaps that will help them go...

All the best.
Phil

Phil - sorry, I don't have pics of the delta-z knives. And, I fear I'll be too busy this week to take some and post 'em.

Ken - many thanks and your generosity is appreciated. 'Tis a great thing you have done.

When all is said and done, there will be rewards for those who have shown their kindness. I thank you all for your words and support.

Update:

Still looking for a job. He's hanging in there and my parents are doing everything they can to help out with the house situation. I think he'll make it - he's young and scared enough to make it work out. In the meantime, though, the money that has been raised so far should help make it easier on his family.

I have given up a few of my most dearly loved knives and, yes, it really hurts. However, I there will always be more knives to buy and even if there aren't, I've got some great memories.

Dan

The WWll that you had plans for but never got around to has a home with me, and is welcome. I'd given my own WWll away to a friend who had no khuks.

I may have shared this once before, but I went to the Gun Guru and said: "I don't have any money. Look at all those good guns. Will all the good guns be gone?"

"There will always be good guns." Guru said.

They look very nice, and have liner locks and horn handles. AISI 440A Stainless Steel Plain Blades Hardened to HRC 56-58. Pics are from another website and these blades go for ~US$100.00 new. Let's make these each sell for close to that!

The auctions end October 3rd, so please move quickly. Don't let them go to some twit who won't appreciate what they mean!:D

Phil - thanks for the plug.

Only one adjustment - the cow horn handles on the real knives are a smooth greenish swirl, rather than the orangish swirl shown in the photos.

Don't panic -- worst thing you can do but hard to overcome sometimes. These ups and downs in life have a way of working out.

Sarge - thanks for the "little"...

hardly crumbs in my book :p

Your kindness and generosity will outlive us all.

Also, thanks to everybody that has helped me raise the money. I've already sent off a batch, and I'll keep you all posted as to my brother's condition.

Dan

The two Delta-Z knives above are still for sale, with no new bids. Only 36 hours left!

What if some sick, twisted person wound up buying them? Wouldn't you want that person to be you instead?

;)
