A Touch Of Spring

Spring is here and it is rapidly churning toward summer. I love this time of the year. Have to get out more. Pictures were good. Good shot of the turkeys!

nice pics, brian! those greens sprouting up are awesome. we're still mostly brown here and i can't believe i actually wore my winter coat the other night too!

Brian, awesome pics. You really have a great eye for details.

Bryan

Thanks for the compliment Bryan, and I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Cool pictures as always. Thanks for the post. Did you see any webworms in the trees? Seams like we have a lot here this year.

Thanks Hawkeye. I haven't noticed them yet...but I'm sure they'll be along soon enough.

Just getting the chance to look through these pics. Nice work as always Mist. Gotta get me one of those Camp Knives.

Thank you Thurin. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the camp knife handle is plenty long enough for even your large hands lol.

Yep, same here. Once it starts, it quickly gets hotter! Thank you. I could tell they were young, letting me get that close during Turkey season lol.

Mistwalker, thanks for sharing. I love the detail that you capture in your photos.

Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoy the pics!

Thanks Jay! Yep color is quickly returning to the world here. Another month and I'll be looking forward to autumn again as usual :)

Excellent pictures, Brian! Very enjoyable  And man am I green with envy for all the Fiddleback awesomeness you've had and experienced these past few years :D

Nice stuff Mist. Can't wait for our vegetation to start coming on - can almost hear it happening....though if the poison ivy wants to stay in hibernation I won't mind so much!

Thank you Russell, glad you enjoyed them! Yeah, I've had a few and really like them a lot, but I've been really fortunate lately to land a few Fiddleback grails. I've wanted both of these models for some time, and the tapered tangs with Andy's ergonomics were just more than I could resist.

Thanks Ken. Yeah, it'll be there before you know it. If you figure out how to keep the poison ivy in hibernation you could make a fortune!

Thank for the pictures. Being a transplant to Virginia, I've often seen Virginia Creeper but (I'm embarassed to say) never took the time to learn its name. Being a novice botanist I just did a quick wiki and learned that it's a useful plant as a climbing ivy that doesn't hurt masonry. Of course I loved the photos of the Fiddlebacks too.

This is my favorite time of the year. Been trying to get out at least twice a week to go tramping around the woods and taking pictures. Hit Pine Mountain SP and Cumberland Gap National Historical Parks in KY this week and they are a good week behind TN in terms of spring. Was hoping to see lots of Pink Lady Slippers, but they have not come into bloom yet there. ....another week, and they should be in bloom there...

Mist, I hit an interesting place that you might like to visit... Short Springs Natural Area in Tullahoma on 4/8/13 and there were abundant wildflowers. Couple of nice waterfalls and well maintained trails. I like the early spring wildflowers and the Trillium were coming into bloom when I visited. Nice place to just do some light tramping around. There simply is not enough time to visit all the places I'd like to go to this time of the year.
