My most impressive discover on this trip is without doubt Pierre Yves Joyeux and his Laguiole.
I had talked with him by phone but the guy is impressive, extremely talented, very nice and open-minded .
For me he makes the most elegant Laguiole of the market .

Great knife! And great Mask!!!:):D

What is not to love about this post? This trip? So many things to love and appreciate all in a single adventure.

The travel, the scenery, the towns, the history, the companionship, the food and drink that must be enjoyed along the way, the knives and the craftsmen who make them. Beautiful examples and some styles I was unfamiliar with. I can always count on Âchillepattada to open my eyes to beautiful (and new to me) knives. I think perhaps my favorite was the gentleman making flint knives. The ultimate traditional! :D

I love all of it!!!
An adventure to behold, and to have some day!!:)

How nice it is to see the showcases and displays with knives from different times, and the different components/parts of knives.
What a kick it would be witnessing the assembly and finishing of a knife and getting an explanation along with it!

Thanks for the tour

Âchillepattada Âchillepattada Super smooth Shadow Lag and the mask & key of the fields mini knife

What is the handle material? Warthog? Could we see the file-work too?

Regards, Will
I can answer to that, this is blonde horn. A very nice one.

...

Noticed a Navete style with a kind of Rope-Knife blade, is that a regional speciality?

Regards, Will
