Very cool little tool; I have some native American tools here, small ones like that, and you can just imagine the stories a piece like that could tell.

we picked up a bunch of rocks near coober pedy

One of my favorite articles (National Geographic?) was about Coober Pedy, and the opals they'd find. One homeowner decided to dig a new bathroom (subterranean home) and found enough opal to make a small fortune.

I have a piece of white low-grade opal type material from here in the states, and when I bought it, it had an edge like glass. I cut myself twice on it, before I finally sanded it down.

Great story about that kid, good luck to him, and you too. :thumbup:
