A US$266 Spyderco Tenacious

It think it’s not..... but it’s very funny. :)

That’s just amazing, just had it painted and singed?
He must be a highly decorated combat veteran, and that knife is going to be in a museum one day.

^ Not unless this gets moved to W&C.

Im more or less indifferent to him, but he does get the info out and has a decent group that listens so thats a plus, but 300 for a tenacious? ....

No the pic isn't allowed. You paid 50 bucks to get a gold membership and dont know you can't post things like that outside of w&c? That's the equivalent to paying $280 for a tenacious.

This is a family forum and you just succeeded in either getting the thread locked or moved.

Edit: and whoever quotes you and doesn't remove the pic is in the same boat. Paying $75 for a platinum membership doesn't give you a pass either.

Nutnfancy is someone that everyone outside of the knife community will never recognize , NEVER.
He is not even anywhere close to Bear Grylls status.

Once nutnfancy's , Bieber-fever like following moves on to the newest thing then how much will that knife be worth ? What a foolish 'investment' , you know as well as I do that some clown was thinking "this will worth a fortune someday !!"..

It is to laugh.

I'm in the community and I don't even know who Nutnfancy is...but I have to say I wouldn't drop that coin on a Tenacious...I'd rather buy a Para 2 and keep the rest of the coin...

Props to the guy selling it for turning a lemon into lemonade.

I can't even begin to imagine what would possess someone to pay that much for a Chinese liner lock with fancy spray paint on it. I hope he (and you know it's a he) gets $280 worth of enjoyment out of it...but I sincerely doubt he will.

Perhaps the scariest part in all of this is that there are 49 more of these things out there.

Anyone care to guess how much #1/50 goes for?

You're not allowed to do price checks... Oh wait, you're platinum. :D

I'm so exited, I heard at the mall today that "nuts & panties" is going to sell a tactical CS kudu for only 279 $

Anyone ever stop to think it's not Nutnfancy selling the knife? Or even marketing it? I'm just saying. More than likely it's just some guy trying to make a killing off someone's name. I'm not much of a fan of Nutnfancy either, but I do like watching some of his reviews because he will review stuff that no one else will. Cheap or not. Either, I just think this is a big scam and some guy trying to make money. On another note, that knife definately isn't worth the money. Even if it was DuraCoat, still not worth it.

It is indeed highly unlikely that Nutnfancy selling it. That said, I doubt it was a scam. If it was, it was a very elaborate one.

I actually went and checked eBay's completed listings to find this to see some close-ups for detail. The description suggests that these were made available by Nutn himself at some point and the whole lot was sold out within the hour. As mentioned earlier in the thread by powernoodle, the spray wasn't even done by Nutn, but rather MissionSpec Camo, a third party (again, according to the auction description.) The knife also comes with a lanyard and two 'skulls', one of which looks to be plastic, while the other is a metal (pewter?) which obviously tack on at least a little something to the price.

There is no question that, to most of us, the thing isn't worth what was paid... but for the guy with the final bid, apparently it was.

Nutn does sell these in lots of twenty to his viewers and they in-turn mark them up and try to sell on Ebay. The last batch I saw he was selling for $75-$100. I can't remember exactly. I used to harrass the THIEVES on Ebay trying to sell these rip-off blades. Nutn started off with Rat 1s' and now is doing Tenacious s'. I have not seen such a crazy mark-up so far. :(

its no different than religion. people just want to belong to something, and some are willing to pay for it no matter how ridiculous the price.

If a knife sells at a highly suspicous price over there it doesn't always mean it was really sold. Sometimes it does mean more will be listed, and this selling price will help sell the others.

I'm not saying thats the case here, but I've heard about it being done.

Nutnfancy sold these knives at a price which was reasonable considering all the work that went into them (duracoating is a fairly elaborate process and Missionspeccamo.com doesn't work for free, even if they are affiliated somehow). The knives were sold out in hours. It seems likely that at least some of the buyers were speculators, looking to flip the knives.
Judging from the Ebay enormity it seems they did so with good reason. :D

That's a lot of money. IMO he has some decent gun videos. One of his AK74 video convinced me to buy one. But convincing me to buy something gun or knife related is about as hard as convincing the bar drunk to let you buy him a drink. I didn't know until the other day that he did knife videos too. As stated above, he sure does polarize people. It's kinda funny...
