A Very Cool Visitor (Tons o' Pics)

Amazing photos. I love owls. I have wonderful memories of camping in a clearing in BC that was also an owl's home turf. I fell asleep to the gentle sound of hooting - and repeatedly woke up to a dull thud (and occasionally little squeak) that accompanied the demise of a mole or field mouse nearby. The owl ate wll that night.

Thanks guys. Our owl friend was back again this afternoon. I am starting to worry a bit about him/her since it seems so willing to be out in the open during the daylight. However, it does seem to be hunting pretty successfully so perhaps it is just taking advantage of an time that its prey is active.

We also had a visit from the Red Tail Hawk that hunts the fields behind our place and a couple of Northern Flickers.

SWMBO says there is a great horned owl hanging around the house lately but she hasn't been able to get pics.

Cool photos. I've only seen an owl up close once after it picked up my surface bait fishing after dark. They are impressive up close!
