Here's a Southwest Bowie from the last Fisk Micro Show, and Chuck Burrows completed the package beautifully.

Very nice package.

IMO, the most important aspect in pulling off a nice Knife/Sheath package is that the sheathmaker is able to match the characteristics of the knife to the sheath. Create flow and continuation of theme so to speak.

Chuck, took a beautiful Fisk SW and did just that.

Thanks for the nice comments.
The "package" is not quite finished - I'm building a display stand to go along with...
The sheath is full smooth leather lined and water resistant finished to make it easy to clean. The "safety strap" is a simple leather wrap weighted with a piece of Damascus - this is a simple one hand retention device that can be tucked out of the way for display if so desired.
Hopefully my next pictures will better catch the nuances of the colors (reddish browns shifting to almost black) in the sheath, which was dyed and finished to "match" those in the knife's handle.
Sheaths are always a challenge, and ones made for knives whose makers are at the top their game are always more so since folks tend to expect "more". This one was especially challenging as well due to the desire on the owner's part as well as my own to pay a nod to the knife's Old West roots, while matching it up with Jerry's "modern" take on those roots.
In this case it took two false starts, which added up to the proverbial "third times a charm", but I think I nailed it..........

Hey PK and Chuck; Super package!! The knife is outstanding as we have come to expect from Jerry and his very hip collecting customers. The sheath does just what Chuck said it was supposed to do and I can understand the two false starts. I had a similar experience getting the Gambler Set just right for Kevin. It really is more of a challenge to make a "proper" sheath for makers who are at the very top of the game, just as you said.

bgspecialk,
Buffalo Grove? I used to live in East Moline and I would drive to Buffalo Grove to by Elk steaks. Is the meat market still there that sells the great Elk?

The sheath is an absolutely perfect aesthetic compliment to that terrific knife.
